AN INDEPENDENT INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS PUBLICATION
We welcome thoughtful proposals from writers, researchers, students, practitioners, and people with something meaningful to share.
WAYS TO CONTRIBUTE
Traditional articles are only one way to bring a perspective into view.
Well-argued writing on international affairs, business, law, health, science, culture, or another field.
Introduce a specialist, explore a question, or bring a dialogue into the public conversation.
Show a place, practice, or experience through original imagery and considered context.
Propose a research explainer, visual idea, or accessible introduction to a complex subject.
We value evidence, context, originality, fairness, and clear writing. A contribution need not express a particular political viewpoint; it should distinguish reporting from opinion and acknowledge credible counterarguments.
What will the reader understand that they didn't before?
Credit sources, respect privacy, and seek permission for images and quoted material.
Acceptance of a pitch does not guarantee publication. Editors may request further research, sourcing, or changes.
THE PROCESS
We begin with proposals, not an automatic publishing queue.
Tell us the subject, format, central argument, and why it matters.
Proposals are read privately by the editorial team. We cannot promise a response to every submission.
Selected contributors may be invited to develop or revise their work with an editor.
Only completed, approved work enters the Journal or a curated magazine issue.
Send a concise pitch rather than a complete manuscript. You can include a link to a writing sample or portfolio. A private review does not make your work public.
We welcome original work, careful research, and authentic perspectives. You retain ownership of your proposal. We will contact you before any editorial publication.
Questions about how your proposal is stored? Read our contributor privacy notice.
Your proposal has been submitted to the private editorial inbox. It is not published. If the team wishes to move forward, an editor will contact you using the email you provided.
